Youth Leadership Pensacola Seeks Class of 2014

PENSACOLA, Fla., March 1, 2013: The Leadership Pensacola Alumni Association is now accepting applications for the Youth Leadership Pensacola class of 2014. Youth LeaP is a program for young leaders who live in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties and who are interested in developing their potential. The program prepares young people to take active leadership roles in their community. The deadline is Wednesday, May 15.

A diverse group of students are being sought to participate in the nine-month program as sophomores and juniors. Class members will meet community leaders from all aspects of life, who will speak on a wide variety of topics. Please visit eapalumni.com for more information about the Youth LeaP program and to download the application.

“It is inspiring to witness the future generation of leaders who are excited to learn how a community works, asks pertinent questions of leaders, interacts with different personalities and backgrounds and becomes a unified group.” Said Jennifer Cooper, Youth LeaP curriculum chair. “The Youth LeaP class of 2013 eagerly stepped up to volunteer with the Manna Community Garden in the Fall and prepared a brunch for the USO troops in February. Youth LeaP is a worthwhile program and I am proud to have been a part of seeing these teens embrace what they have experienced through the year.”

Completed applications should be mailed to our administrative partner Chain Reaction, c/o Youth LeaP Applications, 1301 E. Gadsden Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

Youth Leadership Pensacola program began in the 1988-89 school year as a project of the Leadership Pensacola Alumni. It is now guided by two volunteer chairs and a curriculum committee consisting of Leadership Pensacola alumni.

For more information or to apply for the program, contact Robin Roup at youth@leapalumni.com.
